The stork Max found dead in Spain.

The news is 2 days old but I read it just now, the stork Max is dead, her body was found in Spain near a power line.
Max was a real superstar in the world of ornithology, as her migrations were monitored for more than 13 years.
Way before nestcams became popular as they are now, bird lovers like myself used to check often all the websites with radiotracking reports: it was about 10 years ago and I remember that for the first time I had the perception of how great the internet was: before the online migrations report the only way to have fresh news on ornithology was looking for the latest publications from wildlife societies.
Max the stork had a great part in this little revolution that happened in the lives of birds enthusiasts, and with her 60.000 kilometers of constant migrations she made us know a lot more about storks.
This is a video demonstrating Max's migrations during 2000, 2001 and 2002:
Rest in peace Max. We miss you.
