The oldest man in the United Kingdom passed away yesterday, he was 110 years and 63 days old. The newspapers report he was a strict vegetarian (don't know if the term strict is used to indicate a vegan diet as often happens).
He was a teacher and a minister of the United Reformed Church and a teacher.
It was in the news that he used to say that his secrets of longevity were the vegetarian diet, his love for gin and a mysterious elixir of life that he received from a doctor while he was an army chaplain in India.
Rest in peace, and thanks for being an excellent advocate of the vegetarian lifestyle!
